After a year off in 2018, the Hurstpierpoint Open Gardens team is now getting read to open again this year.  Many people said how much they missed what has become part of the Village's annual life, so lets all support the people who open and the Hospice in 2019.

In 2017, A JAW-DROPPING £5,215 WAS RAISED AT THIS YEAR'S OPEN GARDENS

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED

ALL PROCEEDS TO ST. PETER & ST JAMES HOSPICE)

The Hospice is a registered charity and the In-patient Unit, Specialist Communnity Team and Day Hospice Service rely heavily on donations as they receive less than 17% their funding from the government and need to raise £7,200 per day!

Over 80% of patients are supported in their own home by Hospice Clinical Nurse Specialists.

£95 will pay for one home visit.

Some patients benefit from physiotherapy or complementary therapies at a cost of around £37 per session.

Counselling to patients and their loved ones - £44 will pay for a counselling session.

The average length of stay for an in-patient is around 13 days.  Each day costs around £390.

I hope this brings home how much your support is needed for this much-needed service that touches most of our lives at some time.
